Homemade kalakukko

Kalakukko is a delicacy commonly associated with the Savonia region in eastern Finland, although it's quite popular all over the country these days, at least here in North Karelia. Basically it's fish (in this case, vendace (muikku, thus this one is called muikkukukko) baked inside a loaf of bread. Other popular fillings include perch, salmon, meat and rutabaga.

All you Finns very likely knew all this already.
