Look North...

...or lack of direction? Newcastle managed to get beat 4-0 by Arsenal despite playing reasonably well, I thought. The first half saw us manage to hold the gunners at bay until a fluke and rather comical own goal put us behind in the dying seconds. After the break we obviously knew we had to make more of an effort but then an iffy goal from Walcott which saw an offside Bendtner blatanly, and needlessly, knocking Williamson off his feet to deny our defense any real chance of catching Walcott and dealing with the threat. But the referee did not see anything wrong with this and with 2 goals down our only hope was to go all out in attack and leave ourselves wide open for a further 2 goals on the counter attack. To their credit Newcastle never gave up and were eager to score right up until the last blow of the whistle and managed to come close on a couple of occasions.

After that I went to bed, somewhat deflated, to read my book, bah!
