Old Technology in Technology

Have been asked to take some pictures for a presentation of some of the old computer technology the Technology faculty (now MCT) that was used to teach computing.

OPUS is a small machine code computer which was sent to students for use in the home.

They were able, with the aid of the course units, to learn how to talk to computers, to use them to store information and perform analytical functions.

This was seen as a low cost way to give OU students an introduction to computer programming and lead the way to the use of microcomputers and computers
