Age discrimination

Let me introduce you to Club55. This is a promotion of the First Group to give reduced cost travel to those over the age of 55. You get discounts until the end of November for travel in First Class as well and your Senior Rail Card can be used as well to get a further 20% discount.

So you'd think the trains would be packed with 100's of grey-haired pensioner types and frauds like myself. This blip tells the true story. I had most of the carriage to myself. I can't say that was unpleasant, but as I was travelling on expenses - in other words I'd have been travelling anyway - in Standard Class of course - it's difficult to see that this promotion has been a success.
