Tide edge

Went to see Sunflower Seeds at the Tate Modern with some friends today. Expressed disappointment we could't walk on the seeds any more. However, lying on the floor, looking at the carpet of ceramic seeds, it's quite thick - about 20cms? Filling the big turbine hall - there's a lot of seeds.
Did not resist urge to touch seeds (which wasn't allowed) - I leant over the barrier and poked them. Felt like real seeds.
There was a guy walking the perimeter, wearing two machines that measured dust in the air. The dust is the reason you can no longer walk on the seeds - it was kicking up a lot of dust into the air. If the levels drop, we might be able to walk over them again. Wanted to steal one but I thought they'd frown on that more than just the touching.
Details of the exhibish here.
