Halloween Lantern Carnival

Ah. This is why spending money on public art is a Good Thing. Another brilliant display by Liverpool Lantern Company in Sefton Park this evening. It didn't happen last year because of lack of funding. Somehow, this year they managed to get the money together to put on the biggest and best show I've seen them do. 1,000s of people turned up see the parade around the lake and the grand finale fireworks, where in order to get in, you had declare your name and cause of death.

Can't remember what this guy was ranting about, but he wasn't happy about something ;-)

Just really good fun and a perfect demonstration of how money spent on the arts, so long as its spent wisely, can affect so many people in a good way. Long may it go on.
