To the Hills!

We finally made it to the hills!

I said to Sarah on Friday 'what are you doing tomorrow? I have no plans yet. Let's do something?' and she said 'Let's go for a walk!'

Unfortunately most people seemed to already have plans so it ended up just me Sarah and Megan (in that order in the photo). It was a lovely day and a gorgeous walk.

A 10 minute train ride got us to Taffs Well, a little sleepy welsh village. We went to the post office (the only place open on a Saturday afternoon apparently) to ask 'how do we get up that big hill?' and a lady who was buying something said 'come with me i'll show you!' so with reassurance from the post office lady we hopped in her car and she took us part way and showed us where the path we had to take was. She was so welsh and funny, and it was just not what would happen in a big town.

We made it to the top despite the very helpful signpost in not too long and the view was surprisingly vast for such a short walk.

A most excellent pic nic of strawberries and pringals and Gü mini rolls and a good cuppa tea in a pub on the way back down just added the finishing touches.

In the evening a we went with a couple other girls to the cinema to see Africa United, well worth seeing. It made me miss Africa like crazy again though.
