These jars, and blocks of wood, bottle of ink and so on, served as models for a series of abstracted drawings and watercolors today - I am in a transition period, and these friends come to my rescue during those periods. Georgio Morandi made an entire career of work based on such things - but really not the things but the surfaces and the shapes and the spaces between and among the shapes.

The rains poured all day, and although I walked the 4 miles both ways, I did not take out the camera as it would have needed an underwater protective system.
