This is inland - the huge Cumberland Basin at the end of Bristol 'Floating' harbour is regularly emptied and then the sluice gates are opened to rush water through to de-silt the harbour, especially around the bridges and the feeder canal. The power is incredible and the basin so large the water in the harbour went down by 2 feet today.
