Kintyre as the day fades

I spent today on the Kintyre peninsula, visiting some schools, talking to some parents, learning about the conservation of Campbeltown town centre and discovering the great work of the Volunteer Centre. On the way back this afternoon - after a day that was mostly heavy showers - the cloud broke , firstly laying streaks of light on Jura and then washing a warm red glow over Kintyre from the west as the setting sun illuminated an increasingly wintery landscape. As I came down the hill to the ferry terminal for Islay, at Kennacraig, the sun was just setting behind me, at the end of West Loch Tarbert as it seemed. I managed to take a few pictures before having to drive on to get the last boat across Loch Fyne.
