World powers

The last two days on our visit to London have been all about power and domination in all their forms - the House of Lords, Houses of Parliament; police versus anti-fascist demonstration; Westminster Abbey; Buckingham Palace; Ferraris on Park Lane; the American Embassy; anti-terrorism devices; Oxford Street.

The eagle in this picture reminds me of another representation of power from the past.
