Resting Shoes

This is not how shoes looked last Sunday, standing quietly, under a tree. Last Sunday saw vehicles off the road all along the 10 km diameter of the lake and more than 25,000 pairs of shoes speeding through it. It was the half-marathon that brought diverse city side by side, running, all in bright red t-shirts, all for the same cause.

It was a morning when rock music resonated through the first rays of the sun. And innumerable pairs of stomping feet marched in the very same rhythm. A memorable morning.
