running towards nothing

Clarence Street

There was a late blink of low sunshine this afternoon while I was on my way to a meeting. The sun's rays seemed to be selectively highlighting some buildings, making them glow brightly against the overcast sky. The skeleton structure here will be one of our university's new buildings, housing Business, Law and the Screen School. The cone-shaped roof at the back of the photograph is the Metropolitan Cathedral and the rectangular building in front of it is our Art & Design Academy. I was a tiny bit late for my meeting but I couldn't help stopping to take this and a very nice woman in her car left a gap in the traffic to give me a clear shot.
