Shadows

A mix-up over a drink paradoxically led to a thoroughly enjoyable start to the day.

I had wanted to sit down with a coffee in the market cafe before I started work, but was given a takeaway instead. So take it away I did.

And I ended up in Bristol's Castle Park, sitting in the sunshine alongside St Peter's Church - a ruined shell following bombing in 1940.

On a day like today, the sunlight passing through the arched window frames forms wonderful shadows inside the main building. It's a delightful, peaceful place to be in the heart of the city.

Work was... errr... same as ever. Service was oh so slow, but the redundancy machinery seems to be picking up speed.

The process now starts to rank employees according to a number of criteria.

We await the identities of the winners and losers.
