Koi Carp at Gosford Edogawa Gardens

Lunch today at the Gosford Art Gallery which is one of our favourite places on the Central Coast. After a very enjoyable lunch we spent time viewing the exhibition for the Gosford Art Prize. The standard of work is very high, (the first prize is $10000) and there were several artworks that I felt were inspired. Not the winner, however, which I felt was a particularly weak abstract expressionist piece with very little depth. (It just goes to show what a subjective thing art is!) Interestingly the ceramics are much weaker than the 2D art-work which seems somewhat surprising.

We always enjoy walking in the Japanese Gardens that are attached to the Art Gallery and even in the rain the gardens are a real pleasure to walk through. The carp seemed to have become somewhat depleted since our last visit but it was good to see them gathering around us - no doubt hoping for food!
