Wolves

This morning, en route to the airport in Prague, we visited another park and enjoyed sightings of lynx and wolves.

The wolves were in the midst of an hierarchical battle and one poor chap had a great hole ripped into his shoulder. There were many cries and barkings and howlings and the group generally racing around. I think that one of the drawbacks of the enclosures, is that whilst they are very large, when you consider that wolves will travel miles every day in the wild, they really aren't large enough for this injured wolf to get way and get himself better. So he was continually on edge, watching and waiting, and generally making himself scarce when the pack came back in his direction.

The picture is of one of the dominant wolves who was all right thank you very much and a fine figure of a chap.
