best machine ever

Normally when you need to determine transmittance (for nutrients, enzyme presence, things like that) you need to perform a chemical reaction that involves a dye. You still do that with this machine, but it can do up to 96 samples at a time, unlike older machines, where you put the sample into a plastic container, put it into the machine, read it, then replace it, washing the container each time.

The Epoch is a great time-saver.

The way all of these work is a light of a certain wavelength is passed through each sample and how much of it is transmitted through the color of the sample. This lets you measure how much of something is, once you compare it to a known dyed standard.
