Not dreich...

unlike two days ago - first thing this morning the sky is clear.

Thought I should say something about Blackford Hill - since it appears quite often in my journal (it is less than a minute's walk from the house after all).

The Hill is 164 metres high, and is part of a large park complex that includes the hill itself, a quarry, a radio transmitter, a wonderful walk beside the Braid Burn through thick woodland, Hermitage House - a Scots baronial dwelling straight out of Sir Walter - the Royal Observatory, some important geological specimens, and the most magnificent views in every direction.

Many of those crop up in my journal. I can't see the Observatory from this angle, but schlimm can and snaps some lovely morning and evening shots. Sunset

Blackford Hill is one of the seven hills of Edinburgh - and on really big occasions there are simultaneous fireworks from all seven!
