Women with rice straw...

Continuing yesterday's theme really.

This is taken from outside my office and shows women carrying rice straw away from the fields to use as animal feed primarily. (Buffalo tend to be the main recipients..) This is almost exclusively a female task, and one that requires considerable strength and balance as the weight is virtually all on the head.

The almost invisibilty of the women in this photograph may be a metaphor...
