Romanescu

I don't see these in the shops very much but luckily the overpriced continental market that visits Edinburgh once in a while had some on the veg stall. As well as being delightfully fractal in nature they are also the most tasty of all cauliflowers I've eaten.
It was going to be a big Sunday lunch day today with a nice joint of roast beef with yorkshires, mash and the steamed romanescu. Unfortunately Jen has been called into work so I'm left on my own having prepared all the food (beef already defrosted) with only a couple of bottles of wine for company....
