Hyacinths

Annie suggested that I bring the hyacinths she has given us into the light and warmth. So here they are, looking explosive as they start bursting out of their skins. I love their rapid transformation of energy from the bulb into flowering forms, managed whilst deep within nature's apparently dormant season. What a strange niche they must have in their original habitat, before being forced into this new man-made behaviour.

I must admit that I do so love purple and green close together.
