Fiponacci spiral

Today's photo of Rick van Krugel's old watch jewellery has been reworked in Photoshop to form a Fibonacci spiral. The original photo was cropped to the square on the left, and then duplicated, resized, translated, and rotated a number of times. Actions and scripts simplify the process.

The basic Fibonacci series is 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13... where each number is the sum of the previous two. In the area version, the numbers are the sizes of the sides of the squares. It's amazing stuff, and if you aren't familiar with it you should Google it. Related: golden mean and the constant Phi (pr. phee, = 1.618...)

(The title is a pun on the 'P' typewriter key in the jewellery.)
