The Icehouse

Cold day with rain threatening. So took a bimble out with the troops down to Tentsmuir for some fresh air and simply to get out in the open air! The light was pretty poor and it was a tad breezy by the shore for taking snaps, so we kept to the beaten path sheltered from the wind.

This large icehouse was used for the storage of salmon caught in nets in the Tay estuary before being transported to the railway station at Tayport for the nightly fish train to Billingsgate. Thats one heck of a journey!! The shallow ice ponds are situated just past the picnic tables and roadway

Cant believe its Monday tomorrow.... :(

On the plus side....only two weeks till my winter hibernation starts!!! :)
