Female Chaffinch

I had every intention to get out for a walk today but in the end had to settle for a hour in the garden with the birds. Tried to get a decent image of the visiting Coal Tit but unfortunately failed (very nippy little birds, and I'm going to need excellent light so I can use a faster shutter speed!) I have also fleetingly spied a visiting Great Spotted Woodpecker but at the moment it is spooked very easily. Hopefully it's just a matter of time before I can get an decent image.

So it's a blip of a Female Chaffinch today. Since I started to put Sunflower Seeds on the ground their numbers are rapidly increasing which cheers me up no end :)
