Fork-tailed Flycatcher in CT!

On our way to New York City this morning, we stopped in Stamford CT, in hopes of seeing a Fork-tailed Flycatcher (Tyrannus savana) which had been hanging around for at least a week.

Success! It's a rare bird in these parts. This individual appears to have hatched this summer--its tail is considerably short than that of an adult (for an adult with a longer tail see here).

It perched a good 40 meters away at least. I got some shots with my usual 400 mm plus doubler, and then a local fellow lent me his 800 mm (with a 1.4x extender)--that yielded this blip, which is substantially cropped even so.
