Playing nicely together

Ben was still getting used to Kong yesterday. He hurled him out of the way just before I set the train shot up, hence why they were playing on separate areas of train track at tots.

Kong stayed home while we went to Little Fishes this morning, and didn't join in with the digging and planting of bulbs when we got home. However he has played with Ben this afternoon, shared (sort of) some of Ben's waffles for dinner (Ben cried quite a lot when he thought Kong was eating his waffle, so all the pictures have Ben with cheeks stuffed full of waffle just to make sure Kong didn't eat any), read a book with him, and we've just had dinner where Kong had to have a bib and sit in his own chair, have his own juice beaker, and Ben had to be restrained from feeding him rice. I don't think nursery would be too pleased if Kong came home with rice stuck to his fur, and I am not prepared to hand wash him. More here :)

Oh - almost forgot to say. If the weather is as sunny tomorrow as it has been today, we're taking Kong to the beach as a special treat for Noodlepix!

My dad went home today, just before we went out this morning. It's been brilliant having mum and dad here. Between them and Steve they've got the bathroom completely ready for tiling. It's been a long time. Tiles arrived yesterday afternoon, so in the next couple of weeks Steve's gonna be tiling! I'm excited. Ben's room is still nearly finished: all the woodwork apart from the mantlepiece and door frame is now painted, and the walls need their final coat of paint. It's SO nearly finished. I'd like to be able to move in to that room before Christmas, so we can sort out the other two big rooms and get one of them ready for working on.

Lots of dust everywhere though. And it's brick dust which doesn't just wipe away - the whole kitchen requires emptying and cleaning - it would have been so much easier to clear the kitchen (or put dust sheets down) before making all that dust. With all the dust we've created over the past 10 years of decorating and fixing up, you really would think Steve and I should know better by now....
