These are my parents and one of my nonhuman 'siblings'. We went to Tubac today it was fun.

just for a second (let me pull off my mask)
Show you the pain.
( my throat is hoarse from asking God)
Do you see? Will you hear?
( its a choice you know)
As you meet my eyes on the street.
(you study their brown depths)
They flicker for a moment
( i smile and my hand lifts back to my face)
My mask slides into place as i ask
"how are you?"
( a moment can make all the differance)
