Lisa's love shack

A bitterly cold day but bright and beautiful - a sprinkling of snow on the mountains on the Beara. We went to see Lisa (on the left). She has the most beautiful site with views across Bantry Bay to the Beara to the west, snuggled by mountains to the east. She is a remarkable woman and lovely friend, bringing up two teenage girls, running a health food shop, and managing fourteen acres of organic land. We did the farm walk - perishing cold but spectacular and stopped to admire work on the love shack. The shack has incredible views in all directions and is cosily equipped with a stove, bed, tea making facilities and magazines!! In front is a fresh water pool, swimmable in in the summer. We had come to admire the latest venture - she is putting on a turf roof, just seen over-hanging the eaves. Amidst the turf she has planted spring bulbs, chamomile and heather. Guinea pigs were suggested as mowing machines but other friends who tried this had reported that all went well until the hawks spotted them.
Annabel is peeping through the window and himself is catching the last of the sun. Mama dog is enjoying all the attention.
