The Edge of the Wold

By gladders

Red hair, winter sun

Jenny Brown's Point, Silverdale. Wifie looks across the frosty, snowy mudflats of Morecambe Bay towards the twin nuclear power stations at Heysham in the distance. In her foreground a ruined bridge across Quicksand Pool.

I have featured Jenny Brown's Point several times before. Here there are many ruined structures from the time when there was a small port. The shifting of the Kent channel into the Bay left the port with no connection to the channel to the Irish Sea.

Part of this scene has been blipped before on a very different and overcast autumn day, see link.

We had gone for a walk with Eduardo and Katya before they headed back to East Yorkshire. Thanks E & K for coming this w/e, as always there was lots of laughter and great company. Thanks too for your forbearance with the blip activity. We wish you were nearer and we could see you more often.

The end of my holiday week and the snow is falling silently outside. Boo, hoo. Back to work tomorrow, and a challenging week ahead. I don't think I shall be able to blip every day.

Thank you to everyone who viewed, commented, rated and favourited yesterday's winter robin.
