A New Page

The news of the CiU's return to power in Catalonia for the first time in eight years hits home, quite literally, on the very steps of the defeated PSC's party headquarters in Calle Nicaragua, around the block from me in Barcelona. Here Jaume Torras, who had just come out of the building, poses with today's front page of La Vanguardia running the headline 'Mas Will Govern', which intimates that Artur Mas is now president-elect at the third time of asking, with a near absolute majority.

Thanks to Jaume for volunteering after my first attempt to recruit one of the dark-coated brigade of chauffeur/bodyguards had failed...not surprisingly!
