The Heart of the Matter

Two nights ago I had the pleasure and privilege of talking health with a doctor in the atmosphere of candle lights and fine foods. There was no doc and no patient, just two people in a deeply engaged conversation.

From both sides of the table we wondered about questions like these: What is sickness? What is health? What is physical? What is matters of the mind? Is all health care in fact healthy? By being told, by being taken care of, are we in certain respects encouraged to focus on victim thoughts instead of those that empower?

And though complex questions with many answers, our overall outlook agreed. And especially on words by Victor Frankl: Everything can be taken from a man or a woman but one thing; the last of human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.

But then of course there is this - What is choice? And what is one´s own way?
