Zoe's bravery

Zoe faced her worst fear today. Today, we went to the podiatrist and got her ingrown toenail treated. She has had an ingrown toenail for months. It has gotten really painful, swollen, red and infected. She hasn't let me near it for weeks. It turns out that it was ingrown all along the side and that there was nothing that we could have done to prevent it or treat it on our own....except go in earlier! :)

Zoe was really, really scared. She faced her fear and let the Dr. treat her toe. She is relieved that it was not as bad as she thought it would be. She had not yet experienced the miracle of numbing shots in her 10 years of life. She did not know that their could be NO PAIN. She was amazed. She was so brave during the shot part, which was truly the worst part! She may be sore for a few days while it heals, but I am guessing it won't be as bad as the pain she has put up with from her ingrown toenail for the last several months.

My girl was scared, but she was brave and tough in spite of her fear and I am so proud of her!! Yay Zoe!!!!!!!!!!! She was amazing!! She made it all day at school with only a Motrin after lunch. What a trooper!
