Sunbeams

White on white

The first day of settled snow. A couple of inches fell during the night. The tractor and feeder wagon were able to climb our hill but had difficulty getting down again so we worked for a couple of hours raking the snow out of the way. We have now bought some salt from a local builders yard.

We got to the village shop in the Landrover and passed this typical West Country cottage on the way - I didnt get out to photograph it but peered through the bleery windscreen so it is a little out of focus. It is several hundred years old. The thatch keeps the house warm in winter and cool in summer. There still seem to be flowers in the garden on the left of the cottage between the trees. The road outside was clear but as soon as one got to the top of the hill it was treacherous!
