Snow clearance

The guys from the local farm decided to take on the task of clearing the High St today, as it was obvious the council aren't going to do it.

They knocked on doors to get everyone to attempt to get their cars out, and everyone then joined in shovelling snow to first get everyone's car out, then clearing the pavements as the tractors scraped the road.

Although people have been moaning a lot about the council, this showed me just how impossible their job must be. We never had less than 10 people shovelling, plus two tractors (one scraping and lifting, one hauling away), and it still took 2 hours to clear about 100m of street. The council has 2,500 miles to deal with...

This is the after shot (and of course it started snowing as we were finishing).

Here's yesterday.

Good job all round. Thanks everyone!
