Winter Lunch at Timmy Ho's

Tim Horton's is a Canadian icon. The restaurant chain is named after the famous hockey Toronto Maple Leaf player in the 50's and 60's. Before his death (car crash going 160kph on the QEW in 1974) he established a coffee shop, which grew into today's stock-exchange-listed franchise.

The restaurants are famous for donuts and coffee, and more recently, soup and such. It's not Starbucks, strong roast stuff, but a mild blend that a lot of people like (don't ask me why, I prefer the darker roasts, but a cardiologist friend of mine is convinced they "put something in it" to addict you...).

Canadians wear dark colours in winter. It's like everyone is in mourning for 6 months.
