sledging

We went en famille to visit some friends today. We took our sledges, some wine for mulling over, 2 stollen (made by DD) and some chilli.
it was mid afternoon when we got there, so we all togged up and went straight out to the hill. The Kardooshes had made a sledge run the day before, but there was so much snow that it still needed a piste basher on it!!
Another family arrived with 2 little girls, who proceeded to terrorise the older boys with snowballs, they were too careful of the little minxes to give as good as they were being given, what lovely kids we have.
after lots of sledging, and just when we were all thinking of hot drinks and cake, the kids decided to make a snow ball - the size of a hoose...
Then it was back to the warmth, tea, stollen, wine, cake (coffee flavour, which I don't usually like, but the texture was excellent and I managed to force a bit down ;) ) delicious soup, chilli, tele, photo-watching on the Mac (I want one), the matrix for the kids and chat and banter for the adults.
Then an icy drive home; the snow looked beautiful and sparkly, but it was dangerous, I drove round the hill rather than over it.
