When in Melton

Today was the Victorian Christmas Market in Melton Mowbray.
Lincoln Market had been cancelled due to the bad weather so we drove over to see what Melton had to offer.
It was huge, loads of stalls, many selling local produce and of course the one and only `Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Shop`
We had to go and buy one...a kilo of hand made porcine unctuousness. They are totally hand made, not in a mould, the pork meat is uncured and cut by hand not minced so you have chunks of beautifully seasoned meat with just the right amount of jelly.....fab with a dollop of Melton Red Chutney...and just for good measure we bought a wedge of Colston Bassett Stilton
