Reminiscence of the old Kolkata grandeur

Kolkata is culturally a very rich city, where both tradition and modernism goes hand in hand. A walk down the alleys of North Kolkata can take you back a long long time. It also is the only city in the world where this type of a rickshaw still can be seen plying on the streets.

I like this picture a lot due to the overall feel and the presence of the typical North Kolkata rickshaw in it alongside the the ruins of an auto rickshaw (a huge part in every Kolkatan's life). Living in the city for so long and seeing these rickshaws so often (whenever I visit North Kolkata), this picture really portrays the old nostalgia while keeping a foot on the present Kolkata as well.
