Snow lantern

This is a memory revisited.

Many moons ago I was snowed in over Christmas in a bunkhouse up north. There was a fan of Moomintroll and the Tove Janssen books, who showed us how to build a snow lantern. The theory is to build a mini igloo and put a candle inside.

Everybody built their own and the garden was full of glowing lanterns as the snow fell.

That memory is still very bright and clear to me.
