Bus Stop Day

I spent much of today standing at bus stops.

We were expecting a thaw today and got more snow. Lots more snow. On top of the packed ice from last week.

First stint (9am) was trying to get to the West End for a bus to connect to my 10am meeting. The red TK Max lorry at the junction pulled across when the exit was not clear and got stuck for ages. This bus looked promising but the driver said he was going in the other direction (!) Another 5 buses were full, finally got on one that took half an hour to travel 500 yards. By this time it was well after 11 so I gave up and trudged back home.

Round 2: After having a mug of tea and warming up a bit, I went instead for the 38 to go into the office (the bus stop is opposite this one). Waited about 45 minutes, got very cold then went home again. A bus had been promised on the board but the traffic at the junction was no better and the board eventually changed and said all the buses had been withdrawn (sent back to the depot).

Not a very productive day.
