Tree Hunt

It is becoming a tradition the past few years that we spend the day after Thanksgiving searching for our annual Christmas tree in the backcountry of the Snoqualmie National Forest.

The USFS issues permits each year for $10 that allows the holder to cut down any pine tree up to twelve feet in height. With the high price of farm-grown trees, this is a real bargain. The tree isn't always perfect, but that just adds to it's charm.

This year we found a very nice Noble Fir that I topped off at 11 feet and which is now sitting in the midst of our living room adorned with lights and ornaments...
