Dismembered.

Nick Clegg, prior to the last general election, stated that the Liberal Democrat party "... manifesto will hardwire fairness into British society. This isn't a promise, it's a plan."

...and when he was asked yesterday why did a complete U-turn on his manifesto promise regarding student fees he said, "I'm a politician, not a soothsayer".

Real pity he hasn't stuck to his pre-election ideals. Before he sat down with the Tories to carve up the power base of British politics, he said, "There is a gulf in values between myself and David Cameron. They have no progressive reform agenda at all, only an unbearable sense of entitlement that it's just their time to govern".

The dismembering of funding for teaching in higher education is certainly not a progressive reform.
