After the bath - blackbird style

Female blackbird heading back to her nest after a quick wash in the bird bath (also used by the neighbourhood cats for drinking - maybe they just like bird flavoured water!!!)

She has got more and more used to us as the bath is only a couple of metres from our large glass doors, and she will often use the bath even though we are sitting at the table.

They have had two nests this year - this one is mainly the coconut matting from my hanging baskets. the first nest was too close to the ground and they abandoned it but this one is high up in a dense clematis and seems to be fine.
