Early globalisation . . .

Passing this plaque I kinda read it, but saw two others stop to read and made a point of stopping on the way back.

Its very old, chiselled in hard stone (basalt?) and located in the heart of Dublin City on Upper Stephen St. right beside Dublin Castle.

As the plaque says it was the first factory based on the Scottish Mr Dunlop's patent, an early example of exporting manufacturing to cheaper locations (globalisation?).

I'm delighted to blip this, as it - at a stretch - continues my energy efficiency theme.
