How does it feel on the Big Wheel in Lille?

Cold is the answer.

Consider this proposition.

Catch a bus at 11.45pm with 70 11 year old school pupils to join a ferry in Dover at 5am.

Drive an hour and a half to Lille, spend time in a hypermarket while the pupils part with their euros.

Walk around Lille taking in the Christmas Market and the unique taste of McDonalds in France.

Get back on bus, drive to Calais, drive back to Bristol arriving at 10pm on Friday night.

Despite this challenging itinerary we had a great time. There is a certain joy to be had watching a pupil successfully using a bit of French to communicate and the look on their face when it goes well.

And the big wheel? It was great, allowing a good view over Lille but fairly cold.
