checking

The sleeping thing seems to be working. He's barely waking up during the night (though still is, just to make the point) and is going back to sleep in his cot after so doing. Still waking up well before six, but this isn't so bad after a decentish night's sleep. He might be getting to the clingy stage thing, but appears to have very specific requirements about how to be dandled before settling again when he kicks off, a simple cuddle sometimes not being sufficient. At least he's still fine with just me when Nicky's not about, at least for limited periods, but he's definitely getting a bit more stressy when she's not within line of sight, when he notices, though recently he's been taking more frequent breaks from trying to embed plastic things in his face to look around to check that people are still about.

Whilst they were unsuccessfully looking for something warm and waterproof to replace the wingpiglet's current winter suit thing (which he still fits in but in which his movement is becoming somewhat restricted) I popped out to try and take the edge of a week of not cycling, as even though walking to and from work is just about over my minimum daily activity it takes much longer to achieve and so left less time for any little extra bits. Despite only having been out in the snow and slush a couple of times there were still a few bits of road-gunk-related sluggishnesses here and there but preventative cleaning and oiling of the chain the day before the snow landed has so far prevented anything unpleasant like rust appearing.
