Women's Rights to Land march

As part of meeting and getting familiar with the work of my organisation's partners in Mombasa, we joined this march/rally calling for women to be able to own land, especially smallholder farmers who can be so central to an economy.

Utterly thrilling experience walking the streets of Mombasa with thousands of passionate people calling for justice for women. This just captures the guys at the very front of the march.

Unlike any other protest I can remember, almost every passer-by applauded as we went past, and many joined the march which was peaceful throughout. Big thanks to the ActionAid Kenya office for organising!
