Northern Exposure

By Northern

Tonight's sunset sky...

...is brought to you by the colours blue, lilac, pink and apricot... and a tiny sliver of moon.

Bit more cloud this evening which reduced the sunset to a thin strip of colour. But slightly to the east the sky was painted in more delicate colours with the new moon taking centre stage.

Red has mentioned recently that the colours of my past few blips to him are the colours of Orkney. Based, it has to be said, to a large exposure to old Highland Park labels. This is the view behind the bottle Red, and when nature chooses to add in a perfect turquoise sea, some silver frost and maybe a dash more pale lilac light, to me are the colours of an Orkney Winter.

And some people think that winter is dull and grey!

This morning's island colour.
