Allan Ramsay - Poet

Well I blipped this statue tonight with my camera-phone and to be honest, I wasn't sure of who it was, however I've looked it up and found out that it was Edinburgh poet and publisher, Allan Ramsay (1686-1758).

It's just as well he's wrapped up, as it was perishing in Princes St tonight but the atmosphere was quite cheery with people out enjoying the market stalls and the fairground rides.

I'll be travelling through tomorrow again however everyone is holding their breath to see whether the snowy weather predictions are going to materialise on Wednesday or Thursday.
