Summer Ridge Infrared

I found an old IR filter while rummaging through some old gear today. I never used it much because it was so hard to compose and focus a shot because of the filters opaquenes.

But now.... well that's a whole 'nuther story...

I was quite pleased to see, literally, a live IR preview in both my Canon G11 and the Canon EOS 7D (with Exposure Simulation in Live View enabled). Now I can simply attach the filter, set the exposure, and fire away.
With a little tweaking for B&W conversion in Photoshop, infrareds images are relatively accessible again.

Of course, IRs work best in bright sunshine - something we're in a bit of short supply here in the Seattle area...
